Yes, once again, there is no new HIMYM tonight

And I find it kind of annoying that we seem to go from having a new episode to like 2 repeats before they air another new episode.

Not that I was a big fan of say Glee's 4-month-long hiatus, but I certainly like so continuity. At least Glee came to a conclusion before that long gap. With How I Met Your Mother, I basically forget what happened in the episode before when a new episode finally airs.

The next new episode of HIMYM will air May 3rd, which I presume will be the season finale.

Would you rather have episodes scattered throughout the year or long stretches of new TV episodes with long hiatuses?

HIMYM Home Wreckers

I’m finding Ted’s mother’s fiancé Clint really creepy. Really? She’s behaving like a teenage groupie to her boyfriend? Has HIMYM really become this bad? Ew he really gave Ted a naked picture of his mother and him as a present? This guy is just really creepy. I have a feeling I would have blacked out just like Ted did turning the awful song; for once he’s the sane one. Why is Robin crying? Usually it would be the opposite. Usually Ted’s the wacked out one, not Robin.

Could this actually lead to us getting closer to the mother? I like that idea since we haven’t gotten anywhere? Oh wait, nevermind, Ted’s just buying some crappy “dreamhouse”, which of course is a cliché; it’s a broken down fixer-upper.

I liked Barney’s joke about if it was the blair witch’s house, and even more with how serious Marshall sounded when he said don’t say that it’ll jinx it.

Really, I’m sick of just traveling through past story time. I used to love this aspect of the show, but instead they’ve just made it the center of the story and going for laughs—and it’s not working. I could really care less about the stupid things Marshall doing stupid stuff when he was drunk or a kid. And that’s saying a lot, considering he’s my favorite character.

Wait—Barney cried? Really? This show just starts making less and less sense. Was he doing it just to make a joke out of Robin? I did like that he tried to push it back on her after she revealed the truth—that was a very Barney character thing to do.
And here comes some more clichés, the house isn’t going to pass inspection and Ted telling everybody what he sees the house as in the future.

I like the Marshall/Lily flashback with the inspection and the inspector from the house. That was pretty funny.

I do like that Ted is also realizing he’s going nowhere. Like the show.
Wait—why are they destroying a random wall in the house that Ted paid for?
I’m proud of Ted for going back? But really his mom is baked? And Ted’s saying this is a good decision to be with her dad?

“Your heart is both drunk and a kid.” I liked this line, and I’m glad this story actually achieved the house that Ted will eventually live in I just wish the overall storyline would have been better. Maybe, the last couple of episodes will be better, but I don’t have much hope.

I can't believe I haven't posted about Glee yet!

I've been meaning to do it today, but I got distracted because I had a friend over and went to see Lion King. That doesn't mean I didn't love it. I just wanted to be able to relax while watching it last night. In fact, I've been obsessing over it for basically the past twenty-four hours.

First off, the one thing that really bugged me was how Quinn/Puck were dating, despite the fact that Quinn said she wanted to go it alone. And how little screen time Quinn got. From what I read it's only suppose to have been a few weeks since sectionals, so this gigantic leap to dating Puck seems kind of odd to me.

I wasn't surprised that Finn "wasn't sure" if he was dating Rachel or not, and I thought that Rachel singing "Gives You Hell" fit the situation perfectly.

But, Finchel breaks up, at least it makes way for Jonathon Groff.

I was watching with my friend who is also kind of a Broadway fan, and he just sat there and made faces that said "Is that?" and I was like yes!

I don't want him to be using Rachel, but I know that's probably the case. Sigh.

And Idina Menzel is going to be perfect. Although I don't like the little thing she had going with Will. I'm not a Wemma fan, but I still HATE when people/characters cheat. I guess its understandable since he's trying to figure out who he is.

I can't wait til next week's episode!

(now I just have to try to not read too many spoilers for it).

Zoo or False: How I Met Your Mother

I’ve been suffering from HIMYM withdrawal. I can’t remember the last time it was new or last time I even saw an episode of it. The closest I’ve come this month I think was watching Forgetting Sarah Marshall this weekend with Jason Segel.

At least I’ll be interruption free tonight as everyone is working on papers tonight.

So wait, Ted, are you saying you’ve been lying to us? This could make figuring out who the mother so difficult.

I loved Barney’s voice as he said, “We made sweet love! I got pictures!”

Why does Ted reanact scenes from Sleepless in Seattle? He’s very strange at some points.

Poor Marshall. But how does someone as tall as him get mugged? Oh, obviously if it’s at good point. Of course Barney will use his story to get chicks. It was funny that he copied Marshall’s every line.

Okay, it makes more sense if a monkey mugged Marshall, surprisingly. Not going to lie, Marshall isn’t the type of person I’d pick to mug given his height and his build.

Aww, Marshall accidently injuring Lily reminds me of how my boyfriend always accidently injures me.

Eww, what was the monkey doing with the wallet that Marshall didn’t want it back? I don’t think I want to know.

Is this whole episode just going to be different versions of this event? I’m not digging it all that much.

Okay, woah some guy is screaming at his dolls while he’s interviewed on Robin’s talk show. That’s weird. I’m glad Marshall gets to be on her show, better than Ted, Ted, Ted, Ted, Ted. I’m sick of Ted.

When the girl was screaming at Barney “Neil!” (because Barney told her earlier he was Neil Armstrong—who is stupid enough to believe that a 20-something is Neil Armstrong?) I could only think of NPH.

I knew that he wasn’t going to end up being mugged by a monkey. I repeat my previous statement. I don’t like that this is all only one re-imagined event. I’m not digging this storyline for Marshall, even though I normally love him.

I love Ted’s weird creepy stare with Marshall to tell if he’s telling the truth.
Barney, while some journalists lie. But I don’t consider them journalists. GOOD journalists don’t lie. But yes, Barney, lots of people do lie.

“Now, I want to buy a gun.” Best line by Barney.

Of course they brought the monkey and the monkey has a sad story and that is going to make Marshall not say the monkey mugged him. He’s such a softy.

WHAT?! Your not going to tell me what happened? Not liking how this is going.

They slightly redeemed themselves with having Bobo the monkey climb Ted’s model of the empire state building at the end, making a mini King Kong. But, overall, this episode didn’t really do it for me.

I hope the HIMYM writers can redeem themselves in the last couple of episodes in the season, or otherwise I’m worried HIMYM has jumped the shark.

I'm hoping Glee tomorrow isn't disappointing like tonight was.

My Project for this Summer

...Is hosting a Veronica Mars Rewatch community over at Livejournal. I know not many people have livejournals anymore, but I highly encourage you to get one, even if it's just to participate in the rewatch community, because it's going to be awesome. We'll be having weekly discussions of every episode starting with the pilot of Season 1 with the goal of making it through every season!

Some will win, some will lose

On Monday, How I Met Your Mother is finally new this week with an episode entitled "Zoo or False." On Tuesday, however, if your both a Glee and a Parenthood fan like me, you're going to have some watching decisions to make, and Glee is on Fox from 9:28 to 10:30 and Parenthood is on at 10 on NBC.

Seeing how I've been DYING to see Glee, it's obviously going to win, and that's what I'll be reviewing on Tuesday, with the intention of watching Parenthood either on Wednesday (if it's on NBC online--I have no idea if it is or not) or Saturday night when it's on NBC again.

How was everyone's Sunday? I'll be spending the rest of mine at a theater meeting, then I'll be prepping for the return of Glee by watching my DVD set or by watching Rachel Berry's favorite, Funny Girl, because it's available on Netfix!

My love for LoVe

I have to admit, that at first, I didn't like the pairing of Logan and Veronica very much. I'd like to think that it was because I didn't start watching Veronica Mars until its third and final season, when it aired right after Gilmore Girls on the CW. Starting with season 3, Logan really doesn't have a whole lot going for him. He and Veronica break up twice, one time because Logan cheated on her slept with Madison, which to someone who didn't know Logan (or really Veronica) that well--seemed awful. Perhaps what most did it for me was Weevil's remark to Veronica during the episode "President Evil":

WEEVIL: Wait, wait, wait. What? You're dating Logan again? After the way he treated Lilly?
VERONICA: This is news? Man, the prison grapevine blows.
Weevil shakes his head and walks off, giving her a look of something akin to disgust. Veronica watches him go, a little taken aback.

Not promising words to someone whose only a couple episodes of Veronica Mars. Nope, instead I became a fan of the Veronica/Piz ship (please, don't hurt me...I didn't know any better).

And I'm not going to lie to you, it took me a while to finally fall in love with the LoVe ship. For the longest time I couldn't figure out why people were crazy over LoVe, instead of Veronica and Duncan (once I started watching the series from the beginning). So what made me finally like LoVe? The Epic LoVe scene:



I'm guessing that I didn't watch this scene carefully when I first saw it, but after rewatching it (and almost every episode with any LoVe scene in it), I finally got how perfect LoVe was. This scene (and everything Logan says during it) just breaks my heart. So does this one:



Sway is one of my favorite songs ever, and it just makes this scene perfect.

Parenthood: The Big "O"

It's the last month of school and as it's winding down, the work keeps piling on. But I'm trying as hard as I can to write the best review, but for now I'll just go with a thought process review. One of these days I'll finally arrange it by character. For now I'm just going to write about what I thought was interesting. Just hope my TV doesn't squeal too much during this episode. It's annoying.

I love the song this episode started with, although it's called Young Folks. I forget who it's by, but I know I first heard it on Grey's Anatomy.

I'm so glad Crosby was Jabal's father. Not that I expected him not to be. I like how he was confused about what to do. "Do I buy a microwave? Move to the suburbs?" It's so quirky and cute. Crosby telling his parents was good. It was important to see him learn from his mistakes of not telling people about Jabar, and in a way, he's "growing up".

I hope this behavioral specialist works for Max. It's so painful to watch his parents struggle with him, but they do it so perfectly.

I really hope both Amber and Sarah don't both have crushes on the English teacher. It would be so awful and cliche.

It's good that Sarah created an "it's complicated" box on the English teacher's little asking out note. It'd be weird if she dated him and Amber kind of has a crush on him. As long as her crush doesn't end like super intense, I'll be happy about it.

Wasn't expecting to the English teacher to go that far and just kiss Sarah. It was cute.

Sorry, my roommate just interrupted me and I missed some of the show. One of the disadvantages of living in a dorm. On top of that, I'm trying to multitask and straighten my hair at the same time. I'll try to update this later when I rewatch this.

Back to Parenthood.


I figured that this episode was something to do with faking orgasms. I get that it's something married couples and parents deal with, but it seemed kinda random.

Wait. Joel cheated on on Julia with the Sydney's friend's mother? That's low. Although I don't really like Julia (although she's portrayed really well by Erika Christensen) she doesn't deserve that. Joel came clean about Raquel trying to kiss him. I'm glad in the end Julia decided that Sydney having a friend was important, and she learned to get past it.

I'm slowly learning that I'm starting to pick favorites of these characters. I love Crosby and Sarah's story the most. I feel like I mostly love Sarah because it's Lauren Graham, but also because her character's not perfect, but she tries as hard as she can to balance parenthood and life, and that's what the show's about. Same with Crosby. It's nice to watch him grow as he learns to be a parent for the first time despite the difficulty of not knowing Jabar until he was five years old.

Veronica Mars Movie

 EDIT: This was an April Fool's Joke.
 I just found out that they're officially making a Veronica Mars movie. Both Kristen Bell and Enrico Colantoni have signed on to star in the movie. The movie will focus on Veronica's life after college as she starts to work at the FBI, roughly in the same way the fourth season would have taken place.

According to a rumor on IMDB, Jason Dohring will play Veronica's love interest (good news for LoVe fans--Piz is not listed in the cast anywhere. Check out this link for more information.
